Accueil » Syringe dosing: adaptation to sticky powders
- November 24, 2020
A committed trusted partner, MCPI meets its customer’s requirements by manufacturing very high precision micro-dosers (0.0001g resolution) to fill syringes with extremely sensitive and costly ingredients.
Powder in a syringe: designed for laboratory technicians
When designing therapeutic drugs, pharmaceutical and medical laboratories sometimes ask MCPI for their ultra-effective dosing machines. For this type of application, the powder is may be very light and slightly sticky, which makes the transport and transfer process somewhat complicated. The syringe into which the mixture flows is placed directly on the scale to limit any losses during ingredient transfer. After a few seconds, the operator retrieves the filled syringe and the operation is repeated. The MCPI dynamic extraction process and its control system enable adaptation of the dosing parameters to dispense the ingredient in the machine down to the very last dose and until the end of production; this is essential for very expensive powders.
Ever efficient micro-dosing
By anticipating and dealing with these powder-related constraints upstream, we can guarantee precision dosing, weighed by the built-in digital scale. The dosing elements (specifically the weighing part) are enclosed in a hood to prevent any interference due to air movement. An optional confined environment integrating an air treatment system with controlled suction can also be added to filter the dust. The dosing hopper is supplied automatically via laser sensor to control automatic feeding and minimise interactions between the ingredient and the operator, thus guaranteeing optimal hygiene and safety. The entire system has been meticulously studied to ensure the continuity of the ingredient flow. Several funnels enable control of the ingredient flow and loss-free insertion into the syringe.
Dosers designed to make life easier
Just like the other machines in the MCPI doser range, this system for the pharmaceutical industry is easy to clean and service: the polished surfaces are exempt from micro porosities that could trap powder and all the different elements can be removed without tools. It is therefore very easy to configure a new recipe to dose a new drug or vaccine.
