Indexing is used for many different applications
Although rotating indexers are now often found in production lines in all industrial sectors (Automotive, aeronautical, food processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, etc.), the difference lies in the details. The positioning of parts on the indexing table for marking or labelling flasks, packaging, high output inspection or assembly of electronic components demand the highest level of precision, along with excellent productivity.
Indexer control: automated control for guaranteed quality
Speed, determined by the cam-turret assembly inside the indexer, can be modified without affecting the stability of the elements. This preserves the characteristics of acceleration and braking, and part transfer from one position to another. It is one of the keys to the success of MCPI indexers. The finely optimised movements are controlled by coordination between the electronic inverter and the control card. The latter is used instead of engine braking in all applications and is essential at high output rates. It also enables optimised braking of the indexer in the event of an emergency stop or even a power cut, thus avoiding serious damage that is both expensive and potentially dangerous for users. As well as ensuring safety, the card controls the braking process at all times, unlike a motor equipped with a brake that wears out and demands difficult adjustments! Maintenance costs are thus reduced and performance is improved thanks to shorter transfer times.
